Old Point Loma Lighthouse

Old San Diego Lighthouse

Quilt Designed and Copyright by Susan Plack 1996

The Old Point Loma Lighthouse is located at the entrance to the San Diego Bay. It stands 422 feet above sea level, which meant that during fog or stormy weather the light could not be seen from the sea. It was first lit on November 15th, 1855 and burned until March 23, 1891 when the new Pt Loma Lighthouse was put into service.
